  • 8 days after first being listed here (see below), the senseless edits by this user continue. A recent rapid-fire set of rude edits (and reverts) can be seen in the history of Donatella Versace. Other recent damaging edits by the user that needed to be reverted can be found in the history of Homo habilis and Flag of England. There are a few legitimate contributions. But viewing contributions shows the user continuing to make thoughtless edits to articles (sometimes rude, commonly non-encyclopaedic), despite the community quickly and repeatedly removing them. These links have been removed multiple times by several different users with explanations of "vanity" and "irrelevant commercial link", yet 24.69.255.205 adds them again. 24.69.255.205 is also responsible for a blatant advertisement entry at Preest which is currently under VFD. To be fair, 24.69.255.205 also appears responsible for some legitimate articles and edits amongst the recurring theme of vandalism. I hate myself for doing this. I really do. However, this well-meaning youngster is continuing to treat this site as some sort of geography text dump depite repeated pleadings from other users and a posting on RfC. He is now listing taxoboxes on regions all over Europe with virtually no information whatsoever and is leaving a hell of a mess to clean up. This isn't a personal attack. Lord knows I've tried to help and I've been as nice as can be. Others have as well. I am absolutely thrilled that such a young person would spend so much time here. Like a child, he's badly misbehaving IMO. He ignores all attempts at contact and just keeps doing his thing.   • Hi. We've just deflected a momentous wave of vandalism to such articles as John Kerry and George W. Bush. In a quite nice gesture, at least one of the vandals left a calling card behind - http://boards.ign.com/The_Vestibule/b5296/ . Given the ludicrous traffic on the site, the relevant topic quickly got submerged. It appears to be "I'M ABOUT TO VANDALIZE THE WIKIPEDIA JOHN KERRY PAGE IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED" over at http://boards.ign.com/The_Vestibule/b5296/70598664/?54 . Now, are we vindictive enough to try to get back to them? We have the IGN usernames of several vandals, who have publically confessed. We could at least drop a line to the moderators to try to get the perps banned from there, if we have any reason to assume that the mods would care.   • spent 2 hrs. 25 min. near noon (UTC) today doing likewise on Her thru Miz; these included what are, AFAIK, his first destruction of structure that Ardonik had restored by reverting his; but in one such (i.e., Ardonik-involved) case among my spot-checks, whereas he changed the number of headings, the first time, from 33 to 27 (reduced by 6), this time he changed the identical file's headings from 33 to 14 in number (total reduction by 16 -- more than by half (58%)).
  • has resumed since i started composing this, but i haven't time to inspect, or for that matter ensure that i copied all my links right.
  • Comment: User has a history of making edits of mass destruction and ignoring all comments on his talk page to stop. A few months ago, I had to clean up the utter mess he had created by plugging random categories on random articles—literally hundreds of redundant and uselessly subdivided categories had to be edited off of articles and listed for deletion. Many of these were duplicates of heavily populated categories that could have easily been found with minimal effort, and the useless ones included a category specifically for cities in one texas county that only had one city, period. See his talk page for the repeated attempts[2] I made to get him to think about what he was doing—he never posted a response to any of them. I'm disappointed to see that he has continued failing to respond to the wikipedia community and has persisted in making reckless edits. A lengthy ban at the very least may be in order.
